Remnants 04:23
So should I return? From the remnants of the ashes you have burned Will all my efforts just fall through? As a reflecting mirror of words I've sought within you

Departure 07:53
Toss my mask and cloak away I'm not getting any younger Summon me from the depths Of my former slumber Dated aspirations left behind in dust Maturity in hindsight with blindness in trust Cast away the thoughts and feelings of bygone days Clutching at the shortest straw dealt by the hand at play I see the hearses roll on by Someday soon they'll call my name And if I get there early Am I really one to blame? My age is catching up to me, I can feel it in my bones I'm letting out more feelings than what the surface shows Trying to seek comfort from the answers you receive Facing my mortality with the web of words I've weaved And will I submit myself to eternity in Hell? Or will I repent at the tolling of the final bell? With eyes as pale as skin, forgive me of my sins Repenting for my past, but am I really free at last? Only in the face of death do we know just who we are

When will we break free of all expectations? Lucid in our dreams, we abate our foundations Progressing through our infancy We hold ourselves accountable Though we can't see the highest peak We're sure its insurmountable Believing in that which is not there Coexisting in our delusions A faith misplaced in grandiose ways While masking the sight of the mass illusion

From whence these dire portents around That Earth and Heaven amaze? Wherefore do earthquakes cleave the ground? Why hides the Sun in shame? Let sin no more my soul inslave! Break now the tyrant's chain! O save me, whom thou cam'st to save Nor bleed nor die in vain! This is where the vermin of the world go To sing their psalms And lament for all their sins Here is where the seeds of hypocrisy begin And if I'm referred to as "sinner" I'll refer to you as "saint" Amongst these accusations How does one equate? You've distilled the lines held Between your faith and fraud Is it too late now To get right with God? Time to get right with God You're too fucking stupid to see through the charade Come one, come all, and join the masquerade! You're just like a virus infecting all of mankind Did you enjoy your reign while leading all the blind? How many invested in the church for their belief? Is this conglomerate we call on just a den of thieves? You revel in your ways no matter how flawed The confessional you hide in; time to atone with God Swaying back and forth between religious hypocrisy Questioning the prophets of a false theocracy Must I be the harbinger against the falsehoods you illustrate? A veil of lies hides your image in this world that we create A principle of penitence cannot save one's soul From eternal damnation in a faith that you control And what is faith if not fear laid down upon the weak? A charlatan of power who's lies are what he speaks From whence these dire portents around That Earth and Heaven amaze? Wherefore do earthquakes cleave the ground? Why hides the Sun in shame? Let sin no more my soul inslave! Break now the tyrant's chain! O save me, whom thou cam'st to save Nor bleed nor die in vain!
